Like most of you, I shoot alone almost all of the time.
When the chance came to join several RMNP members for a week along the highways and byways of the Colorado Plateau, I jumped on it!
I'd like to give my thanks and gratitude to Rod Hanna, Cynthia Spence, Grant Collier and the amazing Jim Talaric (who owns more electronic gadgets than I've seen in a long, long time!), along with others, for allowing me to join them and showing them some of my favorite locations well off of the beaten path.
Receiving the signed books was appreciated more than you know....thank you.

Our only regret is that the architect of the whole trip was unable to make an appearance. Thanks for setting this up, CAZ! We'll see you next time, amigo.
Other members originally scheduled to appear were unable to come, as well. :frown:

If any of you ever find yourself in Bluff, UT, be sure to stop at the new San Juan River Kitchen across the street from the Recapture (the Rapture) Lodge. Delicious local food in a fine setting, and a beer & wine list that is outstanding, especially for Utah!

Following are just a sampling of images from areas we were fortunate to visit....

John, those are all fantastic. Now I hate not being able to go even more, thanks
I can't even pick a favorite. Wow.

All great shots John, I especially like the B&W of Comb Ridge Ruin, that is an incredible image!

These are amazing, especially the last one. I hope you post a link to the rest of them at some point in time. Thanks for sharing.

It was cool meeting up with you all at Monument Valley. I suspect RMNPers outnumbered others the evening of the "mitten shadow" event!

Very nice set of images John.

Thanks, folks!

Hopefully the others will post their images from this remarkable trip, Momo. Nice to 'see' you again.

I'm always surprised at the very few (if any) photographers that gather to capture the Mitten Shadow, Ken. The RMNP crowd was pretty much it this year. Again, it was a pleasure meeting you!

Wow, Purgatory Arch is spectacular as is the BW of Comb ridge Ruin (killer tones!) How large is that arch? a couple of feet high or a couple of yards high?

Excellent set of images and I like them all. Looks like a wonderful trip.

Looks like you had a great group outing.

I really like the Comb Ridge BW.
That sunrise at Church Rock, with the snow blanket, is unique. Great composition.

These are all very nice! Thanks for showing us around, Poacher! I'm still traveling, but I'll post some of my pics at some point. And it'll be better to wait a while, so I don't have to follow your post!

I'm having a hard time posting as I would so liked to have joined you guys. We had friends visiting from out of country and couldn't get away. Sounds like an amazing time was had by all!

John, Really nice collection! I have to say you guys are killing me with all these trips you've been taking and all the great photos that have been posted lately!

Nice set of images, John. You're motivating me to get some of mine from the trip processed.
I was looking forward to meeting up with you, but my schedule shifted and I was on my way home Sunday. It was fun to meet up with Jim and Rod in Blanding on Saturday the 28th.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge of the area!

All very fine photos, and can't wait to see photos from the others. Sure wish I could've gone (only 5 years to retirement and freedom!).
I hope I see some RMNPer's in Moab in a couple of weeks.

This is great, great stuff, John! But I've grown to expect nothing less than extraordinary from you. Those first two are killer.

That sounds like it was a great trip. Looks like you visited some neat places and made some very good images.

Very cool to get a bunch of folks together like that.

Gorgeous shots John. That last one really takes the cake! Sounds like you had a fun week. I'm off for my own tour of the plateau today...I hope I can come close to being as productive as you.

John,

You da man! Great shots---beautiful work, and what a terrific guide you were for us. Folks, this man knows the Colorado Plateau like few others....I'll post a few different pictures of mine from the trip on a separate thread.

Fantastic collection John! I'm definitely sorry I didn't go on this trip. I especially love the shots of the ruins (all of them). I am definitely going to have to make a journey down to Bluff and see more of this area.

Thanks again for all of the kind words, folks!
Means a lot coming from such a mega-talented group like this.
