Probably a silly question, but it looks like only CS4 will support the G10 raw files? I upgraded to CS3 last summer and am not the least bit excited about having to upgrade again to CS4 just for G10 support...

That's probably correct Rick...for newer cameras, Adobe has decided that you need to convert the files to DNG first, then they can be opened in ACR. The DNG converter is located here (on the right side, there are links for Windows and Mac).

You could also use Light Room to convert the RAW then send it to CS3. LR has a lot of advantages for cataloguing your images. LR is a lot less $ than CS4. You could also use the DPP software that comes with the G10 to convert the RAW then send it to CS3.

An upgrade from CS3 to CS4 costs $199, while Lightroom costs $299.
Much cheaper to just convert to DNG files.

Thanks for the DNG tips - looks like it's the way to go. Disappointed that Adobe isn't offering support within CS3 - it's not that old of a program.

You can process G10 raw files (but NOT G9 files) in Canon's DPP software.
