A tad tight both sides, otherwise a very nice shot.

Nice clean shot, agree with Ray about it being tight but still a corker.

Hi Guy
The comp doesn't really work for me. Maybe a horizontal would be better ?
By the way I spent a lot of today doing Redpolls on this same plant (Figwort )
Cheers

I like the portrait format, I just think the framing is a tad on the tight side.

Nits covered, but still a great shot Guy. Fab detail in the plumage.

Hello and thanks for the comments.

I have added a small amount of canvas on both sides hope you find this better.

Thanks for the I.D. on the plant John as I add not idea what it was. I also have this in the horizontal format and it does site well. I am trying to increase the amount of vertical format pictures I take, and thought I would post this one to see how it went down.

Re-post for me too Guy. Lovely shot. I think you just need to be flexible with each shot and choose whichever format the subject dictates. If it is horizontal, then Ls does it for me, if its posture is vertical then portrait would usually be my choice. I must admit I prefer portrait format whenever possible, but that is a personal thing. This one would work better in portrait if the subject were smaller in the frame I think.
Rambling - sorry.
