Wildflowers, Arvin, California
I photographed this field of wildflowers along
State Route 223 just east of Arvin, California
about a month ago. I welcome your comments.

Hi Robert

I'll have a go. I think this is fine image, but for me the background is too dominant over the foreground which I gather is intended to be the main interest. Not knowing the location, etc I don't really have any suggestions here. The flower field looks very inviting but I'm guessing you are not able to get down in there due to fencing, etc.

That's correct, Mike. Being private property, the area was fenced. Nevertheless,
I could have shown more flowers and less mountain. It's something for me to
consider.

Robert,

I much prefer your previous image from here; it had some pop, good contrast and color - and had more interest. This one is nice, but lacks a bit of contrast in the hills and although the field of flowers is quite pretty, I'm looking for an anchor, like the rocks you had in the previous image. I would agree that showing more of the flowers might have worked better. In fact there's nothing wrong with filling your frame with all the flowers either. Still, a pretty scene - just lacks the interest relative to the previous image. Sorry Robert - I'm sounding like a broken record now... :-)

Thanks for the critiques. Periodically I'll be showing more wildflower images from
the Arvin area as well as other parts of the state.
