April 2009 - Cover Shot - Bill Pelzmann
We loved this shot Bill Pelzmann discovered inside of Bisti Wilderness. I can only imagine coming up and uncovering something like this. Very cool and appropriate for our monthly topic - Hidden Treasures.

A wonderful choice of a wonderful find.
Someone went to a lot of work to make this and I'm real glad that Bill captured it for posterity before Mother Nature reclaimed it.

Thanks, guys!

One of the great things about Bisti is that you never know what could be over the next hill.
For those of you who have made it as far as the "Egg Garden", you can find this treasure by continuing to explore the wash, a bit further upstream. I won't spoil your fun searching by giving any more hints.

Way to go, Bill. I knew as soon as I saw it that you were going to win. Such a unique find, and such a great capture of it. The art itself is incredible, too.

In beauty may I walk.
All day long may I walk.
Through the returning seasons may I walk.
On the trail marked with pollen may I walk.
With grasshoppers about my feet may I walk.
With dew about my feet may I walk.
With beauty may I walk.
With beauty before me, may I walk.
With beauty behind me, may I walk.
With beauty above me, may I walk.
With beauty below me, may I walk.
With beauty all around me, may I walk.
In old age wandering on a trail of beauty, lively, may I walk.
In old age wandering on a trail of beauty, living again, may I walk.
It is finished in beauty.
It is finished in beauty.
