Here's some shots we captured while staying at Organ Pipe Cactus N.M. in southern Arizona during early march. While much of the park is closed due to illegal immigration and drug running, the eastern half is still open and seemed safe enough. There are a couple nice loop roads that are best taken late in the afternoon for the best color. This first picture was taken on the Ajo Mountain Drive (mostly gravel) at sunset, with the Ajo Mountains in the background.
This next was taken at sunrise the next morning right in our camp site. Pictured is an organ pipe cactus - found only in this region and no where else - with the rising moon.
love the first one ken, I was down in the Nogales area back in september of 08 it was really something. the sunset I saw was incredible. really love the detail in both shots cheers.

Ken, These are wonderful! Beautiful colors and layers in the first one!
Good work, Ken!
First image almost looks like it was taken with a telephoto lens. I sure like the perspective anyway. Love the detail present in the second. Glad you had such a productive trip!

Ken, very nice work. Your first shot should be in the Arizona Highways magazine. Great detail, depth of field, content and colors make for a great composition.

Another vote for #1. Really like the reds in the Ajo mountains and the greens of the saguaros. Good composition as the sky appears to be featureless.
