The Hardy Girls (and boys)
Here's another from Scotland, now a week ago. The males kept their eyebrows hidden most of the time so the majority of birds there were females. I saw four birds in this photograph but I wouldn't be surprised if another one was lurking about.

The projected bird atlas is worrying for these troopers. You'd have thought they have it tough enough already...

Thanks for your interest.

Not sure this quite works as well as your others Chris. I like the idea, just not sure the birds are obvious enough to make it effective.

I have to agree with Pete on this one, If you hadn't said there were birds in this shot I wouldn't have known what the subject matter was! It's good to try something different though

Cheers,

Dan.

Chris,
While the birds don't jump out at you - I'll take your word of 4  - the image puts the bird's environment and battle for survival into context. With the other images you got you've got a good broad range to 'tell the story'. Good work.

As a shot to demonstrate the effectiveness of their camo, this is spot on, but as an image in its own right, I agree that it doesn't quite work. Nevertheless a very interesting post.

May not be quite there... as Eric says it certainly shows how effectively hidden they can be....

certainly an interesting shot, but perhaps one that works better a bit larger as no doubt the birds would show up a bit more.
