I would like to introduce myself to this forum and ask for forgiveness as well. I forgot about the local forums and would like to be active in the midwest one as well. I am fairly new so still learning all the available areas here. I currently reside in Illinois and absolutely have fallen in love with photography over the year.
Anyway I have posted a few shots recently of some trees over at ess and just want some feedback from you all as well. Not sure is this is a worthy one, so let me know your thoughts.
I took this after the clearing of a stormy day which I got soaked during. Fogged the polarizer slightly over the bottom half.
Thanks for your time and comments

Welcome to the Midwest forum, Anthony! No need to apologize for not showing up here sooner. A lot of people wait until they are familiar with the site before joining the regional forums, so you're not the only one!
I like the golden light on the foreground grasses, with the dark sky in the background. The only thing that bothers me is that the top of the tree almost gets lost in the dark brooding clouds, but I don't know if there is anything you can do about it or not in editing.
Thanks Toni, I could easily do a little dodge to the upper tree section but not sure if that would take away from the trueness of the clouds. I see your point though. Ill give it a shot.
Welcome to the MWNP Anthony! I like the moody shot and the colors and light are very nice. The tree is a bit too centered for my taste, and I think you could straighten the horizon line a bit, raising the right side a tad. Very nice first post. I'm looking forward to seeing more in the days and weeks to come!
Welcome to the forum. Like the sky and the grass in the FG. The tree is pretty centered but I think it works as well there as offset either way. Seen a lot of this weather of late.
Welcome to the Forum. I like this mood in this shot. A couple of things bother me a bit. I agree that the tree gets lost in the clouds. The photo also looks like it slants slightly to the right.
Welcome to the MWNP forum. Very nice mood in this shot indeed. Love the glowering darkness at the top and the contrasting warm light on the grasses.
I see what everyone's saying about the apparent merger of the treetop with the dark clouds, but I'd be very judicious about any attempt to gain additional separation. A little dodging in that area will go a very long way.
