The Great Horned Owls
I have been trying to shoot this family through the week. Managed to catch "dad" a couple of nights ago looking at the setting sun. The moon behind him was a bonus.
This morning caught "mom" sleeping and the little one checking me out. this is the first time i have seen the youngster. Not the best shot but what the heck.

That first one is fabulous! It should be on the cover of a magazine. Well done, Klaus.

WOW, these are awesome! Even the second one is sweet because of the baby, definitely nothing to be ashamed of

I'm with Paul, man, that shot should be seen (and paid for!) far and wide! The second one is good, too, but gets lost in the glare of greatness from the first.

Both are excellent, but that first one is scary good! Great comp, color, and timing.

#1 is outstanding, most definitely should be gracing the pages of a magazine!.

I really like #1 Klaus! Great job!

Klaus, I like both images very much, but the first one is absolutely outstanding! Terrific patience. I cannot ever seem to get these guys away from 50 branches. :toast:

#1 is really great Klaus.

I've really been hoping to see one of these larger owls in my backyard, but all we've seen is a Golden Eagle (about 30 feet from our back door) and a Saw Whet Owl.

I like both, they have real eye appeal. Great captures! That's a real sweet treat to have a nest near where you live! You are a lucky man!

Great dynamism in #1 I agree about it's wide appeal - push it out there!
