Pelican fishing
Here's another great white pelican in Djoudj, attempting to swallow a large fish (probably a catfish again).

C & C welcome.

Canon 1D3
Canon 300 f/4 L IS & 1.4TC
ISO 250
1/800
f/6.3

Great shot Adam! :toast: My only critique is that it would have been nice to have had a bit less of a tight crop, showing the whole of the bird doing the swallowing.

Cheers,

Dan.

I agree with Dan that its a bit too tight - I really like all the other Pelicans in the background, I wish the one in the left wasn't cut in half, and the main Pelican was fully in.
If you have an uncropped shot, I rekon it'd be a lot better.

I like the action. Shame the pelican's heads on either side of the frame aren't included fully. Easier said than done though.

Thanks for your comments, not been able to reply over the weekend. I agree its a shame about the pelican on the left, this is full frame so there's nothing that can be done! A crop might help, but partly wanted to see if that niggle bothered other people as well as me. A case when it might have been good to have a 100-400 instead of my 300 + 1.4TC!
