Rhodie Opening First Florets
For those of you who enjoy macro with a twist, I can sure recommend the new LensBaby Composer. The shots I saw over in Flora Florum convinced me that this ingenious revision to the original tilt-shift LensBaby belonged in my bag!

This is of a Rhododendron just opening its first florets. Camera to ACR, a little sharpening. That's it.

Thanks for comments.

I like the effect Catherine, nice color also. I will have to check out the new lens baby, thanks for the info

I've not heard of the composer either. How does it differ?

The "wave" in the background makes a super backdrop, and the colors are wonderful. I'd prefer the foreground to be more focused throughout (I have no idea if that would be possible with that lens?).

I'll be interested to see what you produce with the lensbaby. You have the creativity that should go hand in hand with the effects that can be created with it. I've had one on my wishlist of unnecessary toys since they announced the new composer a while back. You should give us a mini review after you've had some time to put it through the paces.

Yes, nice color and the background is great. Maybe a little more sharpness in the bud as John suggested. :) But then again i dont know what a lens baby is.

What John and Cliff said... Nice to see a Rhodie so soon - they're weeks away on this side of the mountains.

Hey, Aaron, I too thought the new Composer was an "unnecessary toy" until I saw images go up over in flora. Right away it became NECESSARY!

Agreed on the focus on the bud area of the flower. It's user error. The lens is not AF so I'm a bit challenged in getting the amount of tilt/shift combined properly with the area of focus. I'll keep practicing, I promise!

Thanks for the comments.
