We had a really nice sunset last night down here in the sticks. The clouds didn't light up as much as I thought they would, but they still put on a show. I've cropped into both sides of this to focus more attention on the meat of the comp.
What a show! That is some great light. You have some issues going on around the tree branches near the horizon, but I don't know that those can be completely fixed. I might also just clone out the grass in the water on the left and perhaps clean up the right corner a bit, darkening the light spot. Those are very minor ideas on a very artsy and attractive image.
There are light shows, and THEN THERE ARE LIGHT SHOWS!
This is an example of the latter. I'm assuming it's another hdr because of the lightened tree branches and lower center part of the water? I'm really liking that glow, and the reflection in the water. "I hate you," he whispered softly knowing the better artist could not hear him.

Todd, that's a fantastic shot! The tree + colorful reflection really makes the shot.
This is really spectacular, and you found a terrific way to present it.
My only nits are the almost electric blue present "in the sticks" ( ), in the finger of land jutting out into the pond and in the patches of reflected water near the bottom. Perhaps just a wee touch more contrast in the skies?
I've said it before and I'll say it again...you've really got a masterful (and relatively subtle) touch with the HDR processing that is missing in so many other landscape images. Just a few minor kinks to iron out.

Well, I just saw the b&w version of this in ES&S. The lack of contrast in the skies and the electric blues have certainly been taken of there!

Funny how alike we think, John. I reduced the blue and lightened those trunks, and got rid of the blue on that spit of land you mentioned, upon working on the image further. This was kind of a quickie. Oh, and I added contrast to the sky and darkened (made slightly more menacing) the look of the clouds. I won't bother reposting.
Todd this is an incredible photography, I love the beautiful sunset, and the tree really fills the frame and creates an incredible scene. this is one of the photos that makes the viewer go
This is a fantastic shot overall, i saw that sunset and wish i could have been somewhere to shoot it other than downtown Pueblo! The placement of the center branch feels a tad uncomfortable to me, might have been better from a lower vantage point. I actually like the electric blues. Im thinking a shot isolating just the tree and water (w/o the sky and bg) might have been insane, but it looks like that might have been impossible to achieve. Good stuff!

Love the color and reflections going on here! An eye grabbing image.

Light show? That's what I call a Joshua light show!

Stunning, Todd.
