I was looking thru some photos from this last fall and came upon this beauty. I was in Nogales, Arizona at the time. I caught him on a hill just as you leave Nogales heading towards Tombstone.
I was amazed at how close I could get to this butterfly without it flying away! I know it's kind of late to be posting from way back last fall, but I couldn't really do much shooting this winter. I had ACT prep. Constructive Critisim is appreciated.
I accidently deleted this image from flickr so this link should take you to it in the macro forum: http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/ic.cgi?a=vp&pr=119378&CGISESSID

I don't have any criticism of the photo, because it is fantastic. (Okay, maybe the b'fly is a little too centered, but that is so easily solved.) But those emoticons are off the hook!
Relax Chad. It is very nice and it will take a while to get something back from those who do macro work. I posted a ladybug one a while back and about 10% of the views post a response.
I have been looking at it and it just takes some time to ponder the shot and consider what to comment about. You already know that is it is sharp and has a good DOF. But what is the story this image is saying besides there was this big brown butterfly... I wonder what it would be like too if there was more to the right.
Might be good to put this on the macro forum and see if there is anything there someone can add.
I was reading my email and somebody said I needed a SRGB tag for the image so I went and removed it from flickr and checked and it had it already. So I reloaded it, but now the image says image is unavailable. can anybody tell me how to fix this?
