Osprey
Whilst set up photographing a Great Horned Owl nest this one caught my eye he/she was devouring a fish breakfast held by its left tallons whilst perched on a power pole. As the Osprey is the first I've spotted this year and a target capture here it is.

Canon 1D mk111 Canon 800mm plus 1.4 extender ISO640 1.12m f/9.0 1/2500sec handheld on a bean bag through vehicle window using remote trigger.

Shot in RAW converted to jpeg and resized in PS4. No other PP.

Critique Advice Comments most welcome.

Looks like you are starting to tame that lens now, one of the sharpest images you have posted I think.

Shame the subject is looking away from you, but that's life usually!

You got this instead of a great horned owl? I would say that's a good substitute. I'll try not to be too jealous

Mike

Still learning but the introduction of the bean bag has made a big difference. Keeping my own exciment in check is helping when spoting species.

David I also got the Great Horned Owl posting next. I ain't silly.
