Captured Chaos
One of my goals this past winter was to spend some time in Yosemite. After seeing all of your photos from your various trips the urge became even stronger. So in late January I finally made the trip. The weather was pretty rough with much of the time being spent under cloudy skies or cold rain. So on the final morning I spent some time near the Merced river and focused on this rock. I snapped about 10 or shots trying to capture the river flow as best as I could.

Like to know what you think about this one. My goal was to capture the various textures and to do that I filled up the frame with the rock itself. I'm wondering if this shot works and what you all think could be done to improve it. Your thoughts are welcomed.

Oh yeah it works Mike. Some portions look a little oversharpened but that's something not of big concern. In a print I would like the cotton strands on the left to be softer. Just some thought to play with selective sharpening.

Very nice Mike. Excellent choice of shutter speed, and successful composition. A B&W might work nicely as well. There's a slightly tan spot at the top middle that's mildly distracting, with a very small crop that'd be gone.

The rock is my least favorite part of the image but the water is fantastic.
