Hi Folks, I hope you're having a nice weekend..
Well I sold quite a bit of kit recently and bought myself a 5D Mk II and was looking for a subject to try it out. The first animal in the long list was a toad courtesy of Tony Flashman's garden pond!
As I get used to the camera I hope to really put it to the test for some macro and close-up work on these herps and at 21mp I'm hoping to get some good definition. Although it's quite an adjustment in terms of DOF, as you can see. A learning curve that I hope will be fruitful.
Anyway, first of many to come..
Enjoy the rest of the holiday,
Brett

Exciting times Brett when you get a new piece of kit.
Great subject to try it out on and look forward to more to come.
Nice shot Brett, looks like you're off to a good start with the new camera. On the practical side you'll have to get used to reduced working distances as well!

I heard about your new toy Brett, and it certainly looks as though you are putting it to very good use. Nice work.

I told you that you would be able to see warts on the warts at that resolution, looks like I was right. Wishing you many hours of fun with the new toy.

Very nice.
Good choice of focus keeping all the front of the toad sharp.
Excellent compositon and love the eye.
