Here are a couple of more fire photos from the recent burning. This is the fire I took the moon HDR shot over. I found this pond out in the middle of the field that was being burned and had to stop and take some shots.

I like the first one better (even though I really like the colors in the second). The peaceful reflections in the water are sharply contrasted with the line of fire stretching across the horizon. It is fascinating how the fire line bisects the tree on the right and appears to pass in front of it. It is almost magical.
Both are nice, but the colors in the second shot are great. These fires at night are such an amazing sight. Looks like you had a great time chasing them.

I really like the first shot here Scott. The beautiful glow reflected in the pond is a nice element and the shoreline adds some very nice movement. Well done!
Both are excellent Scott. Do they burn like this every year at this time?

Thanks everyone!
Ed: Yes every spring the ranchers burn the pastures off for a variety of reasons but burning improves the quality of the grass and keeps the trees in control. If they don't burn the cedar trees (and others) will take over the prairie. Most people that burn will burn their pastures at least once every 3 years.
