Hey Guys,

I did some recent exploring in Big Sur and it is really nice right now. The wildflowers are really kickin' in.

To check out more from my recent trip go here. You can use the right arrow to scroll thru them:

It is a beautiful time to get down there. I'll write more about the conditions in a follow-up. Gotta run for now.

Derek, thanks for sharing. I like your design skills plus the sense of place in your images.

Thanks Bill.

As a follow-up to my original post I just wanted to give you guys a heads up on where to go if you are so inclined to visit Big Sur in the near future.

The best wildlfowers off of hwy 1 are between Lucia and Sand Dollar Beach. But the real 'high point' is Nacimiento-Ferguson Rd from hwy 1 to Cone Peak Rd. The fires have really fertilized the soil and the flowers are awesome. Plus the hillsides are really green up there. However the last mile to the junction is pretty much burnt and we didn't have time to go further in. It would be interesting to see how things look on the other side near/inside Ft. Hunter Liggett.

The flowers look very healthy. That is encouraging.

Looks like a beautiful time Derek! Great shots of my favorite coastline.

FYI, this is the time to be most vigilant towards not only the nasty poison oak blooms but also for the ticks! Beware of both when traveling out
