I got out for an overnighter camping trip last night up on the Bridge of Heaven, high over Ouray. It was blizzarding all day Easter, but the storm blew out during the night, and this morning was crystal clear.
Man, you really upped the ante this time! I love the opener (and all of the rest), but the MSR shot is waaaay too cool! The combo of the perfect glow and storm clouds moving on are mind-blowing! Congrats on a successful winter camping/solo/backpacking/photography trip!
Get ready for tons o new snow starting Wed, but this time be prepared for the long haul.
I actually like the Aspen shot and the last Ouray shot the best, theyre subtly beautiful, very moody. The MSR tent has the mass appeal, but to me it looks like napalm just went off inside the tent.

Jack, these are great and I think the MSR shot is fantastic in every way!
That tent shot is AMAZING! The others are just so-so.
JUST KIDDING! All of them are great shots. How did you get everyone to turn off their lights in Ouray when the sun wasn't really up yet? I love the aspen trees in the foreground of that shot. And your lead shot here is just great with the control of the lights and the glow of pre-dawn. Another rewarding (in more ways than one, I'm sure) walkabout for you.
Outstanding work! Your efforts getting off of the beaten path almost always pays off handsomely.
I just love the 'High Above Ouray' title image. The last thing I expect to see in a gorgeous mountain setting is the fading lights of a town arising.
Wow - what a great set of images. That MSR shot should clearly be on some MSR product catalogues (or REI) in the near future!
And you get extra points for giving up a couple days of riding in all that pow to get these images. I wish I had that kind of will power!
