This past week we had a slight reduction in the quantity of images posted in the Fauna Gallery (likely due to the holiday long weekend), but fortunately there was no decrease in the quality of images posted! Several photographers posted images shot in great light, and several made this week's EP "short list".
Paul Marcellini found both nice, even lighting and a smooth water surface that helped make his image "The Puddle Hunter" really stand out. David Schoen found similar conditions and did an excellent job turning a Painted Turtle into a stunning subject in his strongly composed image titled simply "Turtle". And, Marsel van Oosten continued on with his habit of posting stunning images when he captured a leopard in very warm light in his image "Sixth Sense".
But Subharyga Das stole the show this week - not only did he find dramatic light, but within that light he found a dramatic subject in a near-perfect pose. His "Drink at Dusk" is a superb image of a charismatic and compelling subject. Well done Subharyga - I'm sure any wildlife photographer would love to have this image in their portfolio!
