This coming weekend is Grouse Days at Dubois Idaho. Its a big deal, many working to support Sage Grouse recovery. 208-521-1357 and grousedays.org Tours, lectures, visit Grouse Leks
I shot this picture this morning, poor light, rain, but loads of fun.
That's cool, Rohn. I am heading out the door today, in hopes of finding some grouse near Walden, Colorado. Not sure what I will find since the best lek is no longer accessible to the public. The CO.Div of Wildlife lost the lease on the land. (My hunch is someone leased it at a higher price so they could charge people to view the grouse). I thought Dubois was in Wyoming, but evidently there's one in Idaho as well. Are the leks on private land?
Thanks for posting this, Rohn. I really wish I could make it up there - I've been getting weathered out of grouse outings this spring.
As you said, greater sage grouse recovery is a HUGE deal! They continue to inch closer to listing as an endangered species. Habitat loss, fragmentation and runaway oil and gas development are taking a heavy toll.

The Lek I visited is on private land, but he didn't charge. He has 5 blinds set up. All you need to do is reserve one. He loves grouse, and the more like us will only help protect the habitats.
