For providing me information on locations, book suggestions, and feedback on a trip to Northern AZ. / So. Utah. last week. He came through even on a very nice, clean, & cheap hotel in Page :-). His eagerness and willingness to help a stranger from the Midwest see and photograph "off the beaten path" and iconic locations just goes to show what a great community we have on NPN and what nice people their are throughout the country!

Here's another member of the John Mumaw fan club. He invited me (I live in the DC area) to head out his way and when I finally got around to taking him up on it, he couldn't have been more helpful, besides being a top-notch guide to some of the highlights of the Colorado Plateau. Terrific guy, outstanding photographer, and darn good company, too.

Yes, John is far too nice! Barely five minutes after I met him, he offered to buy me a motel room. Hmmm, somehow that came out wrong! Actually, I was going to be out late shooting star trails and worried the motels in a small town would close, so he got me a room (separate from his own!) and trusted that I would pay him back when he barely knew me (if he had known me, I'm sure he wouldn't have trusted me, but that's another story).
