Simple Jackdaw
Over the last few weeks I've been spending my photography time getting some stock shots of species I don't have many shots of that are close to home (waiting for the weather to change to warrant further out trips). I spent ages slowly crawling around on the ground trying to get some shots of a couple of Jackdaw collecting nesting material. This one happily sat on a log in the ground just long enough for me to get a few shots off.

High ISO due to being taken very late in the evening.

D3, 600 + 1.4x, 1/200, f7.1, ISO 2200, beanbag

Very impressive considering the high ISO. Nicely captured pose showing the grey on the back of the head.

a lovely image, the detail is great, and the background really compliments the plumage

Lovely simple composition, and a bird we see surprisingly little of on this site.
