Hi Guy

I like this. What sort of hide did you use, if any?

Cheers
Matt

Superb !
Was this near a nest or just pot luck ?
Great stuff.

Hello Matt no hide was used.

Hello John. I have been lucky enouth to find a GCG nest at the local pool. Which is used by dog walkers and the local anglers. There is a nest right in the open and not to far from one of the fishing pegs. The GCG grebes are not bothered by any body using the peg or dog walkers walking past.

The main problem thery are having ia a pair of Coots have made there nest no more than five meters away. And when one of the Grebes goes of, one of the Coots likes to have ago at the Grebe on the nest. I have and excellent shot of the Coot attacking the Grebe on the nest which I will post later when I get round to processing it.

The image you are seeing here is just after when the Coot attacked the Grebe on the nest. The second Grebe was back in no time and soon got ride of the Coot. The Grebe on the nest came of for a moment and did there little dance for me. And then went straight back on it again and went back to sleep.
