Red Squirrel

I thought that as today is my fourth anniversary since originally joining this site, it is probably time to post something

I did actually post my first comment this week after meeting Eric Weight at Brandon Marsh.

Originally after signing up I did not post as the website I was using to host my images did not show the .jpg URL at any point, even when viewing source, so I had no way to link to them. Then I just forgot about posting and enjoyed looking at the images and reading the comments, some may call that lurking

Anyway to start things off gently here is a red squirrel taken during the heavy snowfall of this February, some of you may recognise the location, although the familiar stump is well hidden by the snow.

Well spotted Greg, now corrected:
ISO 400
1/100th
f/4
Nikon D3
300mm + 1.4x

This is beautiful Cheryl, shame you didn't start posting sooner! You can post up to 720 pixels on the longest side, and I'd encourage you to do so in future. Techs would also be appreciated (not necessarily equipment used, but focal length, shutter and aperture, any exposure comp, ISO, etc can be useful to others).

Added details now Greg, forgot about that because I am used to uploading on another site where there are specific boxes for that, so it slipped my mind.

Unfortunately the site I am linking to images from only allows 600px in the gallery. So not sure how I can work around that at the moment. Will have to find another site to host the images in the future as I can't afford $49 to join right now.

Thanks Phil and Julian.

First post, but not my first attempt of photographing red squirrels even from this particular hide. Think this was probably from the sixth or seventh session that week.

Thanks Keith and Mark.

One or two more that are possibilities for sharing here

Will try and sort out somewhere else to host them so that I can use the maximum 720px.

Love it. I like the comp, the snow and the pose. I'd like to be able to see something I don't like, but I can't so you'll just have to accept the gratuitous plaudits.

Thanks all.

Not quite that week Craig, I was up there the previous week staying in the cottage, hence how I managed so many sessions in the hide

I am quite well, though currently unemployed hence time to upload on websites and interact a bit I hope with some like minded individuals.

Eric, you need to try harder!
