Coot attacking Great Crested Grebe at nest.
Canon 40D, Sigma 500 4.5, f8, 1/640ss, iso 400, Tripod.

This is the image of the Coot which loves to cause trouble with the Grebes.

This is full frame and I need to add just a small amount of canvas to the right. As I have got all the coots wing in but it is right on the edge of the frame. I would have done this before posting but I'm going away tomorrow, And just dont have time to do it. And as I said I would post it on my last post Did'nt want to leave it that long.

Thanks for looking.

Excellent shot! Especially good to get both in same plane of focus.

That is excellent a real sense of the action and energy.... this is photography at its best without going to an exotic location.....

Brilliant! This is exactly what I was hoping for when I saw my Grebe/Coot standoff a few weeks back but it wasn't to be.

Really like this, great action and expression on the Grebe's face :toast: :toast: :toast:

You've caught the moment perfectly. That lens is working very well for you, you have put up some top shots from it lately. Not bothered about the rh edge at all. It looks fine as it is to me. :toast: Eric

Well caught, great action and behaviour shot. The splash and open beak of the grebe really make it, and tells the story.
