As I was out scouting again for redbuds and dogwoods last weekend, I ran across one of the neatest (literally) old barns in a likewise neat valley. So many of the rural areas in Arkansas seem to be dotted with, well, eyesores, with old mobile homes, junk cars, and just everyday junk and trash. This entire little valley was so well-maintained that I stopped and talked to one of the resident retirees to see if there was any of it for sale. Of course, the answer was no, but he mentioned that there is an older couple that may put their house up for sale before too long. In the meantime, I'm thinking about going back to see if he would consider adopting me.
Bill, your shot is how I like to visualze rural Arkansas. The early spring trees and the great farm scene is just perfect. This would look great in a large canvas print!
Beautiful image and valley Bill. The greens are really great. I have not shot barns any yet but you do a fine job on them.

Definitely the way Arkansas OUGHT to look. Nice stitch up. I especially like the spring greens. The are so verdant and contrast nicely with the rusted roofing.

Nice detail in the high and lows. I think the blues really add a lot. Perfect crop!
What a cool old barn! I have a great fondness for old barns, "rustic" or not. This is a beautiful scene. The rust contrasts so well with the new green of the trees.

Makes me want to live in that valley too.
Light, color and presentation are dead-on as usual.
