Gull at Sunset
Canon 20D, 500mm, 1/800, F/6.3, ISO100
Beanbag for support.
Bottle of cold Fraoch for enjoyment!

Taken last year on the west coast of Scotland. I'm not sure what species of gull it is - my mind was too blown away by the spectacular light show in the sky! No adjustments have been made in photoshop other than a couple of rounds of USM.

I deliberately left a lot of room around the bird to allow for multiple cropping options. Hope you enjoy it. As always critique is much appreciated.

Hi Pete,
I think this is very nice indeed.
The composition and breathing space around the bird works great IMHO and I think it'd be a shame to have lost any of that amazing colour by going in tighter.

Hi Pete,

I would echo Justin, very nice! Lovely sky! A few dust bunnies, but easily solved.

Cheers,

Lewis.

Lovely, but I think the composition is a bit too central.

love the colours in the sky and craggy silhouette, am inclined to agree that is a little too central though

I'm with Nigel Pete, would prefer gull bottom left looking right but lovely shot nonetheless.

Works for me, I love the 'mood' in the sky.
