Recently back from a trip taking in GC, Monument Valley, Canyonlands and Arches - never cease to be amazed by the fantastic scenery! This year we experienced early April snow storms passing through both GC and MV and the clear skies afterwards, so double photo opportunities. The photo shown here is the storm passing through Monument Valley late afternoon on the day of our arrival. Shot was taken from the balcony of our room at The View, hence tight crop on the lhs. All comments welcome. Cliff
Very interesting and different view of this great icon, the clouds and the pastel color in the sky really make it! If I had to change anything here is maybe a slight crop of the sky but then maybe the balance would be off so I'm not sure.
More contrast and some sharpening would really help make this 'pop' some more.
This would have been a prime candidate for a two image stitch so you wouldn't have had to get so tight on the left edge.
Did you take a tour of the backcountry?

Very nice!
I dropped it into my software and boosted the contrast a little and added a little USM "polish" and it really stood out.
Like Stan, I seem to usually have clear skies when I'm out there. Nice to see some clouds.
Looks foggy which is really rare for a dry area like this. If it was foggy then it really doesn't need more contrast, otherwise I agree adding contrast would give it more impact, possibly by using selective contrast rather than global.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions - much appreciated and the end result is a definite improvement. Don, I believe the foggy apprearance was due to the light snow that was falling at the time. Todd, I do intend to post more images from my trip as soon as I can get around to processing them. Meanwhile the first batch are available to view on my website if you are interested. Cliff
