Copeland Falls
On March 31st I was on St. Vrain Creek. I tried shooting Copeland Falls despite falling snow, wind and absolutely flat light. I worked on this image yesterday and last night (What else was there to do?). I would be very interested in your thoughts. Thank you in advance for your comments.

Rod, i like the idea and scene, and the exposure lloks good to me, but the comp feels a bit unbalanced to me. The top is a bit messy, the left side has the distracting dark spot and the right side feels cut off. I would have liked to see more included here, though you might have been limited by other distracting elements.

Rod, you have a good shutter speed on this and a pretty good exposure. I'm just not sure that I find the composition compelling. The bottom line of ice and snow as well as the top left corner are a bit of a distraction to me. I however wouldn't have even noticed this nice little flow of water and so would have come home empty handed. I guess if you were doing it again, I might have moved a little more to the left. That may however have put you in the water which wouldn't have helped too much. Sorry, I'm no help!

Erik and Stan, Thanks for the comments. Having gone through the ice last year shooting a stream, I was not eager to get too far left on this shot. I had a tree to my right and thin ice to my left. I was about 20-25-yards from the falls and as high as I could get. I was pretty limited with what I could do on this scene. If Stan and Erik don't like it, I HATE it. :) (I haven't figured out how to put those cute little faces in my text.) :(
