I've been able to get close to a drumming grouse a couple of times this past week. This is a shot just after he finished drumming. Canon Mark II, Canon 300 f/2.8 ISO 800 f/3.5 @ 1/250th

Cool capture, Ken. I've heard them in the woods, but never was able to catch them. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for giving us a look...never seen a drumming (or even just post-drumming) grouse before.

I have them around on the farm but have never been able to get a shot. The first time I heard them I was out sawing wood with my crosscut saw and thought I was having a heart attack when I hear the noise.
