Short for Kitten ? Correct?
I had a great couple of hours with a family of rabbits in my 'back yard' this afternoon . Mum and dad were never far away and played happily in the late afternoon sun.I did notice the buck jump over the mum on a couple of occassions spraying as it did so .Not seen this behaviour before and maybe somebody could explain.
The alert response from the kit was from the wife calling the dog in ,it got the usual Davies machine gun approach.

HI, lovely shot.
You put question marks after Kitten and Correct, Just to confirm incase you were looking for an answer a baby rabbit is referred to as a Kitten so yes you were correct..mum would be the doe!!

Lovely; excellent choice of aperture for good control of DOF, the upper dark BG serves to show the transparency of the ears well too, I like it!
The pose, light and setting have all come together here, resulting in a fine shot.

Very nice, the lighting shows off the whiskers well.

Thanks all ,the kitten name I wasn't too sure on as there are a number of alternatives for a young rabbit, anything from Rack to Bunnie. Thanks John and Brian. It's the spraying antics of the Buck over the Doe I'd not seen before .Tried to capture it and perhaps today may be more fortuatous, it appears to spring over the Doe weeing as it does so .It did it on two seperate occassions so I summised it wasn't out of over excitement ,look we all suffer from it eventually ,don't you? Oh it must be just me then.LOL Just wondering if anybody else had 'come across it ' before ( sorry for the pun. ) It may even had been the Doe but being the most active i assumed it was the Buck. And yes my ''lawn '' needs a cut, only its 15 acres and it takes a month with the Flymo.Mark

Lovely shot, beautiful lighting and composition. Yes rabbits do jump and spray like that. I'm tempted to say it was the doe that was doing it, as we had a pet rabbit - a doe, that did it frequently. It seemed to be doing it out of excitment, or high spirits. I would guess at also something to do with mating or being in season kinda thing. I've seen the wild rabbits round here doing it too.
Lovely shot!

Thanks Dawn ,we too have pet rabbits a M and F but not seen them doing it in the run .It was a spectacle and wish I'd have had a faster shutter finger to capture it .It really was a spray too .One of natures odd things I suppose, the other rabbit didn't flinch and carried on regardless.Typical,my wife just raises an eyebrow when i do it and i get the rollicking afterwards when back indoors so nothing new then!LOL .Thanks for that .Mark
