Went to Elmley yesterday morning to find the yellow wagtails. I got plenty of images but none suitable for posting. So it's back to the hares today I'm afraid.

Like it Fran, it's nice and sharp and the room around the Hare is good too, nicely done.

Yes nice and sharp and you captured the movement well.
If you can I feel its good to get them with some broken surroundings if you know what I mean, but you take what is there I know. I do occasionally sit and watch but its always tempting to shoot as they are not the most obliging subjects. Are you in a vehicle Fran or on foot?

Nicely taken Fran ,For me i'd have opened the aperture a tadge and lowered the ISO .The shutter speed is high enough to allow it to drop and shooting from a slightly elevated position the smaller f puts too much fore and background in focus for me ,perhaps thats just my style. But as Major says with these unoblidging subjects they don't pose for long .The crop may take a tadge more off the top, perhaps ?Mark

Very nice, great pose! I'd be tempted to take a smidge off the bottom and top to balance the composition as it seems quite square. A lovely well timed shot.

Well captured Fran, sharp but with a sense of movement. As Dawn said a touch off the top and bottom would give a bit more balance.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments, much appreciated.
Major and Mark: I understand what you are saying with regards to the background. I was shooting from my car as being on foot isn't allowed at Elmley, the wildlife is left undisturbed that way. I had been shooting since early morning, it was very dull and overcast first thing and I forgot to change camera settings once the light had changed
I did consider taking a bit off top and bottom, but decided I preferred the space around the subject.

Interesting, Fran. I was at Elmley this afternoon and a number of Yellow wagtails were in quite close, but I didn't see any hares. I did have a fine view of a stoat, but that was my only mammal. I guess time of day is quite important. I will have to try Elmley early morning.

It is just like the hare is very cautious trying to get any further.
