I spent this afternoon at Elmley RSPB reserve, chasing waders and yellow wagtails by using the car as a hide. I was far from being the only one, lots of people out with big lenses wrapped in lenscoats and either using bean bags or tripod clamps mounted on their car windows. Inevitably there were the few thoughtless drivers who drew up to see what was going on, and scared the birds off. On one occasion though it worked in my favour, somebody stopping to see what someone else was photographing kicked up a pair of yellow wagtails that landed right in front of me. This is one of them.

Hello David,
Good shot. I never knew they have such long legs. I know the white wagtail, but their legs seems te be shorter.

A nice portrait, well seen and taken.

Looks like you had more luck with them than I did David, but then I haven't got a 600mm lens  They didn't come in close enough for me. Maybe I should try in an afternoon  Very nicely taken. Perhaps a little more room in front of the bird may benefit, but then that's just me. Well taken.

Typical Elmey Yellow Wag.... they tend to like the drive don't they, drive up slowly and they will often fly to the side within easy reach....
