For those interested, Rowena balsamroot are still a bit stubby and sparse, DMR are thick and full in some areas (especially mid-hill) and the lupine are popping up well - this area could peak in 4-7 days. The Sevenmile Hill Road between The Dalles and Mosier is at peak and the balsamroot are spectacular in some areas (note: there is a lot of private property in the Sevenmile Hill area.)
The cherry blossoms are just beginning to pop in the Mosier Valley (about 10 days behind), I haven't been up Hwy. 35 yet past Hood River.
Also, for the birders out there, look for the mating pair of Northern Harrier on the straight-away to the DMR. They're on the left side of the road in two scrubby oaks. They were nesting here last year too. I haven't seen the Virginia Rails in the pond this year, but they don't show themselves too much.

Thanks David! I hope the peak can hold out for about 10 days until I can get up there. See what you can do about that, will you?

Showing my ignorance, what's the "DMR?"

That would be the Dalles Mountain Rd - right off WA Hwy 14 - across the Dalles Bridge and a little ways East...
Definately could be The Dalles Mountain Road, but I was using it for The Dalles Mountain Ranch, which is at the end of The Dalles Mountain Road.
Sean, I washed my car today, so that should bring the rain and slow the bloom down for you until you arrive.

Thanks for the update, David. From the field reports, tulips photos and the rate my lawn grass is growing, it looks like Spring is finally starting to happen.
