Haven't been getting out as much as I would like in the last few weeks, but I'm hoping that will be changing soon. In the meantime here's a somewhat recent photo from east of Westcliffe I took on my way home from the NANPA summit in late February. There wasn't the famous blood-red glow on the Sangre de Cristo peaks during this sunrise, but fortumately the line of clouds above picked up some color. I like how you can see several of the range's 14ers from this single view.

Great angle through the North Colony valley to see both the Crestones. The pine trees look a little flat and gray to my eye, but this is a pleasant scene.

Sweet shot, Joshua. I like the color combinations, the clarity, and simplicity.

Nice shot. Really likke the color and the red in the clouds.
Sweet! You don't need alpenglow when you get clouds like this!

Nice. I like the composition, with the hills in the front and the side. Love the color of the clouds and sky. I agree w/Mel that the pines do look a bit gray, but I love that you can see many peaks in this view. This is what I love about Colorado! So many tall, beautiful mountains. Nicely done.

This is a really pretty shot. I love the layers, and the clouds just top it off. I'm with the others about the trees being flat, although that doesn't bother me too much, but the noise in the sky does.

I can see why you liked this scene. A very nice combination of complimenting colors. Now that Paul has mentioned the sky, I would clean that up a bit.

Thanks for the comments. I have reduced the noise in the sky as well as darkened the whole photo slightly. This is closer to how I wanted it to appear because there is a slight glow on the peaks that shows up better when this is darker. I know what you mean about the trees, they will look a little flat unless there's been a recent snow. Unfortunately it hadn't snowed for a few days before I took this shot.

Sweet shot, and sweet viewpoint too. I love seeing the red up in the sky like this, instead of the typical alpenglow on the peaks.

Very nice photo of a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing.
This spot along Rosita Rd is awesome. I actually like the Southern End of the road as I think it adds a stronger perspective of these Peaks. What you have here though is Awesome!
