I am coming up a day early for the gathering and staying at the lodge at Petit Jean Thursday night. I plan on shooting around there Thursday, but am still looking at other options for Friday morning.
I have heard that Collins Creek is a nice area and it is sort-of on the way to Jasper (in a round about way). Have any of you done any shooting there? If so, is there a favorite location that you are willing to share?
Graves Canyon, Longpool falls, Haw Creek, and Falling Water creek are all on the way to Jasper just off HWY 7. There are lots of places along hwy 7 all the way to Jasper. I am sure everyone else will have plenty of suggestions. Collins Creek would be pretty much back tracking from Petit Jean.

Thanks for the suggestions Matthew. I guess I should have noted that I've visited Falling Water Creek on almost every trip to the Ozarks because it's so easy. Alhtough I've visited Haw Creek (albeit with low water levels) I thought that someone suggested that as a possible location for the weekend. I have not however been to Longpool or Graves Canyon, so I appreciate the suggestions.
If we don't get some rain this week (and I suspect we won't) Longpool falls may be rather dull. Have you hiked to Twin or Richland Falls?

I haven't made that trek yet. The possibility of no rain was one of the primary reasons I was looking at Collins. Didn't want to waste a lot of time getting to a location only to find it dry.
Wx Man is saying sunny and 80ish. Bad waterfall wx. They are saying chance of rain Saturday night (wouldn't count on it), so Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning maybe the waterfall day. That probably means clouds at the best.
I just stopped by Long Pool thinking it would be better than a few weeks ago. The flow is still not that great. I didn't even bother with the tall falls, it just didn't have enough water to do it justice.

Home Valley Bluff and Dismal Hollow just west of Deer are also not far out of your way.
