I had a ton of nice subjects on the ground underneath my feeder yesterday morning. A pair of Brown Thrashers, N.Cardinals, Eastern Towhee, and Robins. Should I just lay a tarp down and get under it for that?
I was curious as to what you guys would do to setup for that angle?
laying under a tarp should work fine Kyle.
as for tripod i use the bottom of a frying pan with a ballhead mounted on it.

I have used a simple ground on occasions made from pvc pipe and a camo tarp. I made a using an 8’ section cut in half with tee pieces at 4’ for support mine was 8’x4’ and 18” high. Total pipe was 4-4’ sections and 6-18” legs plus fittings. This allows for some movement under the blind nice on long stretches in it or for changing equipment. I had used a cover like you at first but movement under the cover seemed to scare some of the wary birds. For your needs camo may not be needed only cover perhaps a single person tent will allow you ground level and more with easy setup.
