Cock pheasant displaying
This male had attracted a harem of around a dozen hens which he was displaying to by fanning his tail and presenting himself side-on. Behaviour I had not witnessed before. He was also doing the more usual crowing and wing flapping which produced a few good sequences. Taken from a hide / area baited with grain.

Hi Mark nice shot - centre of the frame. Good colours and nice blur in the wings. Good to have the additional detail of the hide and the baiting info.

Well timed Mark, always handy to learn from others on their techniques especially for a newbie-ish like myself !

Hi Mark

Looks like the bird is conducting (oops . . . anthropomorphism)! Was he helping you with your timing?

Seriously though, nice behavioural shot that should do well commercially/anthropomorphically. Is this taken from your roe deer spot?

Cheers,
Chris

A well timed capture showing the displaying behaviour of this bird, with a good low perspective; very nice.

Regards
Terry.

Hi Chris,

He does look like a conductor now you mention it. Yes, from 'roe deer' hide.

Cheers, Mark

Have you got any good ones?

I love it! Apart from the obvious antics of the bird itself, I like the various layers you've managed to capture.
