This is my first post to NPN. I have been browsing the site here and there for quite a while, but haven't posted anything before. I am interested in honing in my skills and improving my technique and I will gladly accept any criticism.
Went down to the tulips on Sunday after getting a new Sigma 10-20, my first wide-angle. I didn't know the hot air balloons would be out there that day, so that was a nice surprise.
James: this was taken at sunrise. They have moved the tulip fields again this year. Last year they worked out perfectly so that the rows lead up to Mt Hood and the sunrise.
Nancy: this was taken with a Nikon D50, I've had it for a few years now, but you can find newer DSLRs that are fairly affordable. You can find out all the technical specs here. I also combined four images in PSCS3, two for the sky, one for the background tulips, and one for the foreground tulips of different exposures to avoid part of the scene being too dark/light etc. Thanks for your interest!
Well, that's a good way to start it off. Looks pretty good all the way through, although it could possibly use a fuzz more sharpening. Welcome to the forum.

For the sake of those who've never been there before...is that a sunrise or sunset shot? Either way, it's lovely!

Wow -- I love it! What settings did you use?
What camera?
I can't believe I'm asking such silly questions. You took a wonderful shot and I'm only curious because we've considered upgrading our wide angle lenses.
Plus, the image makes me want to be there! Great job!

"Welcome Aboard" Daniel, a beautiful first post... I really like the sky on this sunrise, a very pleasing wide angle comp.

Thanks for your suggestions, Aaron and Jesse. Here is a
