Grey Wagtail
No kingfishers but the wagtails are now using the perch.
Difficult to frame as the bird always looks to the right so have left room to play with!

Repaired Nikon D3!!,500 f4AFS/11,IS0 400,1/125th,f6.3,Gitzo,Hide

Hi Craig

Always a nice bird to see on a waterway. Good quality shot as usual.
My only (very) minor nit would have been the framing - but I don't know why!! At first I thought I'd liked to have seen the bird with a touch more headroom, but looking again, I'm not sure.

Nice shot, cheers,
Chris

PS. What went wrong with the D3 out of interest?

Hi Chris and anyone with D3

Intitial problem was random overexposure then Err mesage on top and camera locked up.
Superb service by Nikon NPS turned around in five days new shutter unit ,under warranty thankfuly!

Hi Craig, firstly Nikon.. me too with D3 problems with the CD err coming up regularly .This is Card Reader error and apparantly more common than Nikon will let on to,it too locks up the camera at the most inoppurtune moment .NP with the exposure and I'll get round to returning it ,eventually :frown:
Nice pic by the way ,like the complimentary angle of branch to bird.

Don’t see that many of these perched up like this, and with a still tail. An excellent capture really nice shot.

Well captured on the perch, it does look a tad bright to me too.

Regards
Terry.

Lovely portrait of this colourful bird. A touch bright / contrasty perhaps but minor crit. To me the light falling onto the bird is slightly uneven as though a leaf or similar is casting a very minor shadow.

Nice! Never seen one on anything but a rock.

Hi Craig,
Nice image, good eye contact and a well exposed subject.
Greens in BKGR look a little bright and I'd take some off the right and if you have it add a little bit to the top.

Cheers

Austin
