I took a short walk up the slopes of the Leavenworth Ski Hill this morning. The Glacier Lilies are history and the Balsamroot are in bloom in the sunny margins of the trails. Underneath the open canopy of the Ponderosa Pines, where most of the balsamroot are, they are barely showing any color.
This was a tight comp, with power poles on my left and a road to the right. So I'm not completely satisfied with the arrangement but choices were meager this morning. As the bulk of the plants come into bloom I hope to return.
Sony R1, 1/20 & 1/4 @ f/8; w/ two identical exp. @ different focal distances.
