I've been drawn back to Bulgaria for more work with the BSPB and their programme for protecting the rapidly declining vulture species in the last week: when I posted some Vulture pics in the autumn I was told I should get a job doing their PR so have taken it to heart and am working on some features now!
I returned principally for some images of the Egyptian Vulture (now critically endangered with a 30% decline in the last 4 years and only 40 pairs left in the country), and was rewarded with some excellent experiences with them and their Griffon colleagues too.
Long hot days in the hide after the best shots like this early in the mornings, but rewarding as an experience.

Thats a lovely photo mark and well done on highlighting their plight and circumstances, it would be very sad if we were to lose this species which you have captured lovely and in great light, well done and good luck :wave
Hi Mark
Good shot - nice light and use of differential focus.
Did you happen to take the image in portrait format? - I like the bird in its habitat, would like to see more of the rock face.
Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris,
Played around with all sorts of compositions as you'd expect - this was her favourite early morning perch but not for long: this one was taken on another morning when she arrived quite a bit earlier and the light wasn't quite so warm yet: also with a full-frame 1ds Mk2 for more enviro too.

Hello Mate
Glad you got the shots you were after and I really hope they can bring to light this beautiful birds plight, these shots and the ones you did in november will certainly help and that to me is where photography plays an important part. Great stuff
