Avocets ritual
On Texel I found this funny little chap laying on his belly stalking Avocets. I felt a bit sorry for him as it was darn cold. He was talking a strange language but he reacted positively on cookies and chocolate. So I became quite attached to this funny creature and we did have a fantastic trip doing Avocets, Godwits, Bluethroat and Black-necked Grebes. I think the Holland trip for Natures Images was a success and I look forward to the next trip in 2010.

Here the male is throwing water at the female trying to warm her up and have a bit of a snog with her.

Lovely photo edwin, I love these birds and would have loved to have come to texel on danny's and your workshop to photograph these+godwits, next year i will, love the action in this shot, great pose, Well Done :wink: :wink: :wavey:

lovely image, the behaviour and background is great, does seem like it should be a little bit lighter but probably just me

But did you make him sleep in the car?

Great behaviour caught here... it does look a little bit 'muddy' perhaps just lift the whites a bit... is there a slight blue cast too... (but that does portray the coldness)
