We're planning a long weekend around Capitol Reef NP in mid May. Can anyone tell me what temps we might be looking at? Also, are there any areas around there that are known for wildflowers?
Thanks,
Paul

Paul,
I've only been in March and April but according to this : http://www.capitol.reef.national-park.com/weather.htm
it should be pretty nice. The higher areas toward the NW of Cathedral Valley might be a little cooler. I can't help you on the flowers, it was always too early when I was there -- though the orchard area could have flowers. If you are planning on heading to Catheral Valley its a good idea to check the road condition -- its pretty flood prone.

Paul,
Seems like I shot "Factory Butte" , very close to Capitol Reef, in May a few years back and had lots of flowers. Unfortunately, can't find any of the shots so am not sure about the time frame.

The Fruita orchards are blooming right now. Flowers around Caineville (including Factory Butte) don't happen every year. If they do (depending on rainfall), they can be spectacular.
