Been away for a while so I thought I might try to catch up with everyone, here is a shot of Sunrise Falls in Madison, this is one of the many falls that dot the landscape in Jefferson County Indiana.
The falls stands about 40 feet and is at the back of a steep canyon right inside the city limits of Madison. I had to shoot a piece of the falls only because of the debris and fallen trees from last years ice and windstorms.
Hope everyone is doing well and hopefully I can get time to shoot and post more on the forum !!

Hi Bernie, Good to have you back.
I like the lines in this image and the silky water. Having the lip of the falls right at the top of this image is troubling for me, though I suspect that there are limitations to shooting any higher (like daylight). Have you considered cropping the top a bit and allowing the viewer to focus on the FG and BG cascades? A crop would also give the illusion that the falls are higher than they actually are.

Nice shot, Bernie. Can you share the specs. please? I'm trying to learn waterfall technique. Thanks

Bruce, I shot this at f/18 1.5 sec. @160 iso,
17-55 @ 17 mm slightly warmed in filters 81a
cropped a bit to rid image of overexposed sky I also agree with Chuck and should have cropped just below lip of falls to add a little mystery on scale.
Hope that helps.

I like this a lot, Bernie. I would like to see a bit more of the top rather than less, because it looks like there are more falls back and above, but can certainly understand the need to avoid the sky coming into the frame. As it is, the crop is a bit awkward at the top of the frame, and agree with Chuck's crop suggestion if you couldn't add a bit more of the upper falls. Still, very nice composition!

Looks nice. Soft light and a decent flow. You got the right shutter speed to get the motion right.

If the upper portion of the falls only was showing in this image, I'd say leave the top of the image in, but, with the lower falls included, I go along with Chuck's suggestion of cropping down the top just a bit. Good exposure, Bernie.

I do agree with Chuck's suggestion about the crop from the top...and reading on, I now see that you do too.
