More bloomin' Balsamroot
We got an alpine start this morning, leaving Leavenworth at 4:30 for Hay Canyon above Cashmere. I and a photographer friend climbed by headlamp and parked our camera gear on a ridge profuse with blooming Balsamroot, shooting in the purplish dawn and continuing until after sunrise. After a few days of unseasonably warm temps, the flowers are popping out everywhere now; the hills above the Wenatchee-Cashmere corridor are just awash with bright yellow.

Sony R1, 1/8 & 1/250 sec @ f/16, blended. TK's luminosity masks and make-it-glow mask, Marc Adamus' glow technique.

Awesome Marc, besides the great color I love the gentle roll of hills!

Good shot, full of all kinds of sunshine that enlightens the rolling hills landscape. Nice mood and creative comp.

Very nice Mark. I really like the reverse "S" curve of the middle ground slope.

Marc, any idea if they're starting to pop up on Tumwater Mountain yet?

Bryan:

I doubt if there is any activity way up there yet, but I will check today and let you know.

Could use a little more contrast throughout most of the image, Marc. Otherwise nice.

Your comp has led the eye nicely to the upper right! :)
