Photo showing a watervole smelling the aroma of this dandelion with a view to eating it, which he did The vole had climbed out of the water and was feeding alone the bank yesturday morning in poor, early light,a real character that brought a big smile to my face all morning
Lovely shot Craig - just a shame you didn't get the eye in the plane of focus

A very different Water Vole shot Craig, the BG is very nice, but the very hot yellow of the dandelion really draws my eye, just a personal taste thing I guess, nice shot though.
Good behaviour capture. The second post is a cracker.

I have looked at this a few times and it still comes back as breaking all the rules of general photography as we are taught. ( But they may be wrong) The concept is great and the blurred eye could be sorted a bit. A great opportunity in this picture.
You ask for advice - OK ?
The animals head needs to be over to the left. It is looking out of the shot which in my opinion never works, especially when it is this far over. Not sure about the crop factor so maybe you can do nothing. The animal is looking to the right so it really has to be ont he left of the shot
Not easy at the time but worth thinking about. You could try avertical crop with just the head in.
