Ive waited months for this--the return of Medano Creek! Took a 5 or 6 mile hike up the creek Friday, beautiful day. Sunset wasnt as great as i had hoped for, but as ive said before all sunsets rock at GSD.

Another great set of shots from here. I like 7, 8 and 13 too. We're going to have to start calling you Stan "The Sandman."

They're all really good, and I'd add #4 to the mix of standouts, but yeah, #8 is pretty freakin' monumental. Well done!

#8! Wow! You got some good stuff, Stan. With those reflections, I can see why you were hoping for a good sunset, but you certainly worked around it. Did I mention I liked #8?!
I'm gonna say 4,7,8,13. Just like everyone else. 8 is probably my favorite also. Great series, Satan. OOps. I mean Stan.

Nice stuff Stan. Looks like I just missed you guys. I spent all day Saturday walking up and down Medano Creek. No great light for me, but the creek was indeed in fine form! I sat in the same spot as #8 for what must have been an hour, just watching those awesome waves.
I really really love #13, and they are all great work!

I read the title of the post so fast I thought it said "Return of Menudo", I was ecstatic only to be disappointed, but then pleased again after looking at the images. I am partial to 3,4,8, and 13. Very nice work Stan.
The image above is really beautiful. I love the soft reflection in the water and water's waves. I REALLY need to get to the sand dunes one of these days.
Speaking of good one, you have an excellent series here! #'s 5, 8 & 13 are my favorites.
I think that your processing of these images is first rate. In this day of so much over and under 'development' of digital files, it's always refreshing to see work that's just right.

Thanks, Joseph; i imagine it would work ok as a B&W, but the colors here made the shot for me--if you look at the first shot you can see the difference in color, and that's partly due to the #3 version being closer to sunset, when on this particular day the light was pretty diffuse due to the high clouds filtering the light. (i relied on auto WB for both). I was talking to this other photog who was complaining about the light and i didnt say anything but i was thinking to myself "you gotta be kidding--this filtered light is awesome for the right scene!" So, that's why ill stick with the color, it's fairly unique due to the conditions.
Stan, I'd give my vote to the one posted above (#11) - something about the mood and sky that just pips the other similar excellent shots. Great processing! Cliff

I took a look at the rest of the shots and man, amazing! I love that pre-dusk light you had. You did an excellent job processing these.
