I have a client that wants to produce printable & web usable images using SVG. In learning about SVG, I find that the Jpegs are embedded in the SVG. Does anyone have experience with this that might be able to help. I could use some reference material, as well as some direct experiences.
Thanks, John

SVG = 'scalable vector graphics'. It has uses in websites & some print media. It's likely not big in Nature, but in more client based imagery. I am just looking for some help.
My only experience is with Serif's DrawPlus (v.3 thru v.7) vector-graphics application. It will import the bitmap file (JPG, PNG, BMP, maybe others, too), and then it becomes a layer in a vector image and is wonderfully scalable. Within reasonable limits, the resizing is accurate, clear, and doesn't need sharpening: all you do is pull on the bounding-box handles, and it's resized. If you go to Serif's website, you can find a free version of the program--they make older versions freeware--that you can play around with. Serif's PhotoPlus is, I think, the applet or plugin that does the conversion of the bitmap to a vector image, so if it's not included in the free DrawPlus version, grab a free PhotoPlus, too. These are for your practical experimenting only, I fear, because Serif's vector file is proprietary and not universal.
